2"AS Installation on 08 fx4

Little worried about doing it myself, Are the instructions that come with the kit pretty acurate? Truck is only a week old prolly better to do it sooner then later?

AS Install

It's a fairly easy install if you have some time and basic tools. You will likely need to 'rent' a couple of tools from the local O'Reillys store or whatever is in your area. Do a search on the forum and there a couple of very good step by step write-ups that a couple of folks did with pictures and tool list. Very do-able for those with even basic wrenching skills. Here is a link to the one that I used.

Sorry for asking a novice question (and I don't meant o side track the OP), but what are the benefits of a leveling kit?

Many do not like the raked look trucks have (FRont sits lower than rear) so the leveling kit fixes that "problem". The leveling kit also allows for a 35" tire to be fitted on stock rims (4x4 only) and gives increased ground clearance.

Bad news is it throws the front end geometry all out of whack. Ball joints and CV's are not at very good angles after the install. Although Ford used quality parts and few have had issues it will def accelerate wear and tear on all these components

I do the same thing constantly, dont worry.

Wanted to ask though what your thoughts were on the Edge helping the 4.6 move out. I ask many people but the answers vary quite a bit. Im looking mainly for low end power, what are your thoughts on it?

I've only owned the truck for about 2 months. Plus it is my first truck... ever! Somehow that has to be a sin to be 50, live in the south and have never owned a truck before. Oh well, I'm probably headed to hell anyway.

I installed the Evo about 2 weeks ago. I've got a grand total of about 250 miles with it and to me it has made a world of difference. The throttle response is much better, plus my MPG has improved by about 1.4 with no highway miles at all. I realize I haven't had it long but I am completely pleased with what the Edge has done for my little 4.6. BTW I don't tow anything and haven't hauled anything larger than a recliner.

Well once you own a truck this good it will be hard to ever go back. Sounds like the Edge made a great difference, thanks for the info man!
