body or suspension lift

aight im pretty new to the whole off roading deal but i was wondering which type of lift would better suit my needs. I have a 2001 supercrew and I spend the majority of my time on the road and the lifts primary purpose would be for looks but i do some times go on mud trails and the sand dunes. so i do want it to be able to perform but i dont really want to spend a ton of money. So any recomendations would be greatly appreciated and also i do want to be able to put on either 36 or 37 in. tires on it.

If you want a tire that large you probably want to combine both!

Wandell`s right you will need both the suspension and body lift to clear that size tire so you dont have any rubbing when you turn.

What the hell are "tire hubs"? Do it right and put a 6" suspension lift on it. A body lift is a bad idea if you want to use the truck in the mud and on the dunes, IMO. To fit 36s or 37s you'll need a 6" lift plus a spacer or a body lift ...

As you might already know im running 36x12.5x16 Super Swamper TSL RADIALS with just a 3" Body Lift.

It rubs at full lock but I avoid that anyway. I wouldnt recommend doing this with any other tire. The TSL says 12.5" wide but the tread block is only 9" wide.

Also you can only pull this off with the stock wheels. And id only recommend doing this if you plan on lifting it higher in the future. AS I DO...

Heres a picture!
