Belltech 1" drop shackles....

So I noticed yesterday that Belltech offers a set of shackles for dropping the rear of our trucks 1". They also have a note at the bottom saying they have holes for a 2" drop as well..... Looks like about $90 for the pair so I don't figure thats too bad to get either option.

But my question is, will I need to mess with shimming the pinion at all if I just go with a 1" rear drop??

Thanks!

Probably not, but I would not mess with 1". I have the 2" Ground Force with the shims and I wish it was 3". You won't even notice 1".

Well, I just put my 22's on and want to bring the back down just a bit... I do some hauling and towing so I really didn't want to level it out and then be dragging in the back when I'm towing something....

I figured with those shackles I can do 1" or 2" though.... just wasn't sure about needing to shim or not....

If you go 2", I would use shims. 2 degree I think it is. They come with the GF kit. The 2" drop did not level mine at all. It is still higher in the rear and it did not affect my hauling.

i would do 2" setting and i would change out the shims no matter the angle, trust me ive done so many different configurations on my rear suspension. Its a pain to change them out, but its worth it not to tear up your pinion shaft bearings in the rear end, or cause vibrations

any alignment shops should sell them but you will pay as much as 40 bucks for one shim. I would check online, i know the old stylinconcepts website used to have them on there

silly question... would a 1" drop take a 1 degree shim?

i am 3" higher in the back than front now, so i'll probably go with the 2" with 2 degree shim but thought i would ask....

You just need to order the Ground Force 2" kit. It comes with the necessary wedges and all your fretting will have been for nothing.
