MPG with 8" Lift and 4.88 gears

How many mpgs are yall gettin with a 8" Lift (Rize preferrably) with 4.88 gears? Be Honest please! My dad thinks that even with gears ill get under 10 mpg on my 04 f150 4x4 Lariat.

I would say he is probably right, because a 37" (I am assuming you are going to run 37's) tire is a lot of rotating mass.

yeah but ive heard of people getting anywhere from 12-15 mpg because they have 4.88 gears and a chip

I would highly doubt 15 MPG

10mpg as an overall *average* sounds about right.

Maybe 11-12 with a chip, E-fans, underdrive pulleys, and gears.

I think Thump said one time he was getting 13 mpg.

i get about 10 mpg mixed driving. I can pull 12-13 on the highway.

13.8- 8" lift, 35' tires, 4.88 gears, NO chip asides from speedometer and shift point correction. The tires weigh almost 80lbs. Most 37's are about 90lbs.

13.5 with the same as you, but instead of gears I got a programmer.



To the OP, I think with gears and a programmer and CAI you could see 13 in the city, don't think youll see it on the highway though.

texan aviator told me he gets 12.5 city and 14.5 hwy and he has a 10" Rize on 38s with 4.88s and a chip. my buddy up the street has a 8" Rize on 37s with 4.88s and a chip and he told me he gets 15 mpg.

I would need to know how they are figuring out there MPG... using a full tank the the trip odo ?

Not the most accruate. There are better ways to do so, realisticly your going to be getting an average of around 10 mpg. Sure, some days will be better and some worse.
