Alignment...

I was going to college, and I made a wrong turn... and I took some city back streets. So I make a turn from a stop sign, and I didn't happen to see a nice divot in the road. I hit it with the front left tire... and damn was it a doosy! It killed my back from the vibration.

However, I don't think I busted anything... and there is nothing out of the ordinary wrong... but I've got a question.

How well do these trucks handle severe bumps like this?

Mind you this is a 100% stock work truck with factory suspension and wheels and tires.

Should I be worried about the alignment?

How about other steering components or suspension components?

I didn't notice anything wrong... but after feeling that bump in a truck... I almost crapped my pants to know what it would feel like if I hit it with a car.

It wouldn't hurt to have the alignment checked. However, you may be ok if the truck isn't pulling left or right.

Oh, ok.

That's what I thought... I've only got 12k on the odo.

And no, there is no pull left or right.

I think it was the way I hit it and it made the vibration crazy.

If it's nice out one of these days, I'll go back out and take a picture of it.

Should've stopped today after hitting it, but I was in a bit of a rush... and it got the best of me.

truck suspensions are very stout, you should see some of the abuse people put on them out in the country.

I ran across a section of road cut out, about 5" across and about 6" deep at 35 with no ill effects with my lowered suspension.

at the end of the day it is still a truck

I have run over curbs at 55+...Did not need an alignment.

Ok. I was just scared... that I busted something.

I should know better... because a couple months ago I got my boxers up in bunch about a stupid 4" curb I coincidently ran over. With the left front tire... and no ill effects.

*sigh* Maybe I should worry about washing my truck or something, rather than a stupid pot hole I ran over....

I go over those concrete parking blocks that tell people to stop instead of going into the next lot. Beats waiting for a miracle where traffic lets you out. Factory height stock wheels and tires.

At my school parking is tight and if you get there after 8:30 or so you have to park in the garage, that's not an option for me because my truck it too tall

I usually get here pretty early and my favorite parking spot is at the front corner of one of the lots. There is usually nobody in it when I get here and unless you drive a truck you can't park there because it has about a 10" deep rut running diagonally across it and about a 10" drop from the pavement.

there have been cars and small trucks stuck in it before. I had to pull an accord out

last week. There should be a sign up or something.
