Angry Help with Bilstein 5100 install- Spring compressor -HELP""""

I am trying to get the 5100's installed on my 07 F150 4x4 front and the Auto Zone rental coil spring compressor won't compress enough. Bolts get real tight and all thread starts to bend. Also cannot get the safty clips on and it starting to get real scary.Any tips? Would a second set help. Do you get a small bite or max spread on the coil with the compresser.
Desperate.

I'd take them to a shop that does strut replacement on cars. They usually have heavy duty spring compressors. They should be able to remove/intall your coilsprings in a few minutes.

A agree in taking it to someone who has a strut compressor. Should not take very long and it is better than overdoing it with some standard spring compressors. Be careful and good luck.

What a pain. Have gone to two auto shop locally and no one can compress the springs bad *** F150 springs enough.
Looks like you need a heavy duty unit or something.

I had the same problem, ended up using 2 sets of spring compressors, and did get one sprong compressed enough. But it wass too scary for me, so I took the struts to Pep Boys and had them do it. They charged me about $20 each. Putting the struts back in was the easy part.

Went to 4 Wheel Parts and they had it done in about 45 minutes while I waited. Cost me $80.00, which seems kind of high, but was not in a bargaining position with my new truck sitting on jack stand in driveway. Install back in was a breeze. If it was not for the damn springs, it would have been fun. Not driven the truck yet to see how the ride is, but happy with the lift (1"). It's amazing that little C-Clip on the shock holds all that pressure from the coil spring.
