Fabtech lift + Swaybar

Alright well, I got rid of most of the rubbing. Got to go test it all out this last weekend, and had a blast. The truck ran and performed great, i was able to pull a couple Pathfinders, Jeeps and one Dodge outta some soft dirt. Tires are awesome (chewed em up a lil bit diggin in some rocks).
Anyways: Whenever I would put her in 4Low and give it a little umph (probably 2 grand... maybe a bit more) It would cause enough movement to bring my front driveshaft down, close enough to my sway bar to bang against it. It doesn't bind it, it is just knickin it, but you can hear it pretty good. I am thinking maybe a washer or two where the sway bar mounts. Any better ideas? (or correct mine?) Thanks guys. If I wasn't clear, let me know and I'll snap a couple photos (trucks at home so it wont be til tonight)

Alright well, it looks like either my diff is mounted too far forward (although I really can't see this being the case, everything else lined up damn near perfectly). Or my driveshaft has bee re-installed backwards (if so... that would just be me rushing and being stupid) or the sway bar drop brakets have been installed incorrectly. I was wondering if anyone with a Fabtech lift, on a newer body style F150, would be willing to post some good close pics of the swaybar mounting brakets and the whole sway bar set-up. Much appreciated!

Thanks for the help guys!
My driveshaft is in the wrong way i think. The boot should be closer to the transfer case, from what I have read. So I will flip it and see if its better.

LOL!!! thanks a lot man! at least i got one comment!! woo hoo! and a compliment at that. no worries... i figured it out on my own. used (do I dare say...) another forum since the search on this site gave me too many "ifs" and "maybe". Tomorrow I will drive her down to the shop and flip the shaft, see if it is the fix!

You sure about that? My driveshaft was in boot near the diff.

You can say that again... Never in a million years did I think someone would really buy it... Oh well, I'm just going to play with the fox for the winter, and plus it's nice not to have a payment.

Ya I got the lil 4.6. Surprisingly the power loss isn't that bad.(I know I was pretty damn worried) Other then lift and a extra aux tranny cooler, new tranny and diff pan, my truck is still a stocker rocker. It still gets up and goes (just not as fast) RPM's are lil higher. I used to cruise at about 75, just around 2k (Tach) now I go a bit slower, prob round 65-70 and my tach is prob at 2100 or 2200. Not bad at all. And I am still able to spin my big ole meats Oh and took her out to play in the dirt last week. Did great and got a couple people un-stuck. never had a problem myself and shot up some pretty darn good rooster tails. I should also note, I do not buy trucks to race, or compete with little sportscars... I am not too worried as long as its stil able. My ole Chevy can only go about 60mph (max) and gets about 4mpg... so this truck is SO much faster... and more effecient. The guys going from little Stangs then into big ole trucks.. I am sure they feel like slugs.

P.S. But I am ordering up the xcalIII here real soon (maybe today)
Then it will be some 4.88's...

Nope... not sure. But its what I have read in a couple threads. I will flip it around and see if it helps. If not... back to this super helpful thread...

Ya, that looks a lot like the problem I was dealing with. i flipped my driveshaft (now the boot is closer up towards the transfer case) and now there is a TON more clearence. Drove around the block in 4LO tryin to romp on it to see if I could get her to nock again... no sounds so far.

Cool.

Glad to hear that it looks like you've got it solved.

You're an experienced mechanic, and you still run into issues. This is why I, not being an experienced mechanic, tend to shy away from doing this stuff myself.
