How to get maximum comfort?
Hey all,
Been lurking a while but thought I'd benefit from the group knowledge before I start spending $ on new parts.
I commute in a CNG powered 2000 F150. Only 15k miles on it, I bought it from a city that was getting rid of it. She's in perfect mechanical shape and hasn't cost me one cent in maintenance since I bought it over a year ago. I've only put ~3k miles on it, mostly because the ride is pretty rough and I live on a terribly paved stretch of road.
Any advice on what I can do to soften up the ride significantly? I know that without IRS there is only so much I can expect.
I can sacrifice payload capacity for comfort. Hell, I hardly ever even have a passenger so payload is a non-issue. As it stands, driving over ruts/potholes/bumps is no fun. Handling is not a big issue either, I drive the F150 pretty slow...
Billsteins have served me well, but I don't know which model # I should buy for comfort (often they'll have several that fit a model, some for performance and others for softer ride). Also, is there anything I should do in terms of springs? Tire brand/size?
The truck is bone stock, btw.
I know this isn't as interesting a question as lift/performance related posts, but thanks in advance!
