'03 lightning leafs on a '01

how much will the '03 lightning leaf springs lower the rear of my '01 supercab?

reason is I've allready got 2 inch drop shackels and I can adjust them to lift it it another inch if the lighting leafs are too low. the lightning leafs are to improve the handeling.

here is how the truck sits now

I can tell you what the specs are and give you a guess as to lowering. A standard 3(2/1) leaf system for the 97-03 has between a 1250-1434 lbs (could tell you your exact capacity if you give me spring part#) capacity and a free arch of 9-1/8". The Lightning springs have 5 leaves (no overload unlike the other springs) and a 1250 lbs capacity with a free arch of 6-9/16 and thinner steel so I'd guess about 1.5-2". If you really want to lower it then the Nascar model springs would be the best bet because they are 1250 lbs capacity, 4 leaf with 5-1/2" arch. When I say capacity I mean per side and the spring capacity and not the load capacity.

I'm just trying to increase the handeling, I like the look it has right now and I got the lightning leafs for free the truck is lowered 1inch up front and 2 inches in the rear so I will probably go back to the stock shackles when I stick in the SVT leafs

thanks for the info

Looks good. It must handle on rails (for a full size pickup).

I still can't get over how good flareside trucks and HD wheels look.
