***UCA spacer*** chek it out!

thought you guys out there with after market UCA's would like this...

this guy put a space under his UCA so when he cranked up his coilover he didnt lose travel from his UCA being at an extreme angle. not to sure if this is possible with the Rize spindle or the any other company though (its on a CST), i havent really looked at any other spindle aside from mine up close.

not saying if you do this you should crank you coilovers higher just though you might want to keep your travel one you crank that chit up! when i buy bilseins im going to do this.

he is cranked up an inche or two:

by adding more travel to a truck that has cranked coilovers or a leveling kit, would that be extremely dangerous for the CVs? im thinking they could easily snap if you dont have limited travel.

Thats a really good question .. Thats why shocks limit travel on the front of IFS trucks so not to break tie rods and CV axles ..

exactly... i dont think you would break a cv, depending on someones stupidity and how they offroad im sure it possible to break one. i really dont think that extra 2"s of travel is going to break a cv or tie rod though. anyways i still think that spacer is a cool idea.

I think it's a cool idea but I wouldn't advise to anyone who is going to be offroading their truck. It'd be better to just let the uniball stay at an angle .. seems like it would be the weak point and whats the point of having a uniball UCA if it's actually going to be the weak point. I do think it'd be nice for the street .. that way your UCAs would last longer. Who knows ..

im sure i could get that hole thing to be machined to one piece, the piece on top of that spacer just slides in to the uniball i would think a machinest could figure something out. i dont think it would really be all that weak the bolt thats running though there is a $25 grade 8 thats as thick as my thumb. if that thing breaks your truck would have to fall from 40 feet in the air.

I'm just speculating since I've never seen it done before. Does the guy plan on using his truck offroad?

Check your PMs ..

Looks to have some serious hardware under there. I have some buddies out at Donahoe I could ask about what he's running if they did the truck.

It doesnt seem unsafe to me but my question is if your maxing out a uniball then what are you doing to your CV.
