I just bought an 2005 F-150 XL. I wanted to lower the rear of the truck and get some rims. i wanted to know if any body knows a good lowering kit and the right offset for 22'' rims, and a good tire size that isnt to thin.

I have these shackles and they come with pinion shims where the other companies shackle kits you have to order them separate.

My Eagle 22x9.5's have 6.7 inches of backspacing, which I think is close to perfect.

man, there are so many products out there to lower a vehicle and the cost varies widely too...i'm beginning to get confused...cars were sooooo much easier. i'm with 05XL, i just wanna lower the rear a bit, is that product you posted the only thing i need to buy in order to do that?

Yes. You just R/R the shackles and put in the shims if you need them. It's a breeze. Just lowers the rear 2".

drop shackles

do you happen to have after market exhaust because i was wondering if the shackle would raise or lower the leafspring if the leaf spring was lowered that means it would hit my aftermarket exhaust plz reply
thanks ,

I have the GF kit on my '06 KR and I have true duals straight out the back. I should have put the drop kit on first because after about a month of driving, one of the rear exhaust pipes crushed the brake line which runs over the top of the rear diff. It cost me $450 to get it fixed at the dealer. They were nice enough to run the "new" brake line in front of the diff, so the problem will not happen again.

The GF kit has longer shackles that will raise your leaf springs two inches higher towards the bottom of your bed. Check out your bump stops and exhaust beforehand to see if you have more than two inches of clearance. If not, changes will have to be made afterwards.

The difference is more like 3 inches. The GF kit lowered my truck 2" and the back now sits about an inch higher. I think it looks better with a slight rake versus the 3" tilt from the factory.

When I tow my boat, the truck sits level. I think level is a little too low, as you do not have much room to spare when going over dips or bumps, etc.
