Mono Tube vs Twin Tube Shocks

So what's the big diff??? I got a letter back from a tech guy at Rancho where I wrote in just asking some generic questions (about the pro series adjustable/remote reservoir shocks) and he replied and informed me that no Rancho shock is a mono tube design. He said it's a matter of design and that's it, one's no superior than the other. Just different. I would imagine he will support his product, so what's up??

Seems like most of the high end shocks advertise mono tube and your lower end economy shocks are twin tube and all that, but even the top line Rancho's are not mono and I doubt they are an inferior product.
