I have an '04 FX4 screw that is completely stock at the moment. I'm dissapointed in the fact that the front end bottoms out almost continuosly when I'm driving in deep sand. I'm reading a lot about the leveling kits looking good, but I haven't found anything that tells me I will get more clearance up front. It certainly seems that I will, but I'd like to make sure. I'm leaning toward a 2.5" kit. Thanks.

 

Honestly, the only way to really gain any ground clearance is to install taller tires, which the leveling kits allow you to do. I'd recommend the 2.5 inch Autospring kit.

Thanks y'all. Now I need to sell my beach buggy (91 sub w/ 4" suspension lift and 33's) to cover the cost of those new shoes. Of course, that leaves me with only one 4wd. However, the one left will have AC, and won't leak rain through the roof. As long as I'm not plowing the beach with the FX4...that's freakin' embarrassing.

 

Actually the leveling kit will give you a little ground clearance by itself.

Independant suspension gain ground clearance with spacer, but axle won't.

With a 2.5 leveling kit and 33'' tires, you're looking at almost 3'' more of ground clearance.
