level kits

The truck looks great. Can anyone tell me about the 2.75 springtech level kit. You do not here much about this kit.

I recommend not going over 2.5" Anymore than that and you are putting major stress on your UCA's and to severe of angles.

Excellent write up and pics. Can't wait to install mine.

I always support the lower a-frame on any vehicle with the jack when breaking the top balljoint loss so there is no jumping around or sudden impacts. I also leave the nut partially threaded on just incase...

Is there any chance of pulling the axle out of the diff during the process? Forgot to remove the axle bolt on the kids van when I did the balljoints and pulled the axle out. GRRRR

For me, the Pro Comp 13134 Add-A-Leaf & 64201 Front Coil Spring Spacer Kit provided the perfect combination of being able to throw a few more pounds into the bed, and the extra clearance needed for slightly larger & more aggressive tires.

If I did not get a decent package deal from my local brick & mortar version of 4wheelparts.com (Dave @ Oakland store), I would not have bought the Pro Comp equipment. This is the kit that requires you to remove the coil spring and you need to compress the coil spring in order to put it back together. I wouldn't recommend it unless you have a coil spring compressor and know how to use it.

Do-it-yourself guys would do better with Autospring or Fat Bob's Garage. My deal included parts, labor, and wheel alignment. Don't forget the alignment.

For pure aesthetics, I would consider the 6" lift. But the real consideration is the cost factor. Lift Kit + installation is in the neighborhood of $2K. Wheels & 35" tires look to be about another $2K. I am not spending $4K for cosmetics on a $13K truck.

great write up

me and a buddy put an autospring leveling kit on my truck a couple of days ago. I printed off this write up and followed it step for step. Would have been much harder just using the instructions autospring provided.
THANKS

Good write up. My buddy and i installed mine a couple days ago. This write up helped a lot, but the i would say the pittman arm puller is not needed, i just it hit it with a hammer about 3 times and it popped loose. And i call BS on getting the lower strut bolt loose with just a regular socket wrench.. We had to use some leverage by putting steel tubbing on the end of the wrench..

i'm glad it helped him out!
the BFH method works for some people, but didn't work for us. and as mentioned, it is not as safe. the tool is free to rent so why not.

as far as the lower strut bolt.....i am an OX (not to say it was easy, but it is possible). i have air tools now, so this whole thing would've taken half the time. oh well, i'll be ready for the next lifts...my TJ and an 07 Toyota FJ Cruiser.
