8 inch lift for 2005 4 x 2 F-150???

Hey F-150ers,
I have a question... I want to put 35.5 inch tires (Toyo) with 20 inch wheels but they dont make an 8 inch lift for F-150's 4 x 2.

I have already installed the leveling kit so couldn't I just install a six inch lift (Fab Tech) and ask them to send me 4 inch blocks for the rear instead of 2 inch? That would give me the extra height and keep it level to put The Toyo's I want!

Any ideas?

I'd install the 6 inch Fabtech and a 3 inch PA body lift.

I'd go with the 5" Block, just ask Nooq.

The 3" body lift would also be another good option but a little more pricer especially if you can't install it yourself.

Body lift

In the past, I have never been a big fan of body lifts. I would prefer to leave the body on the frame. Depending on the truck, but a lot becomes exposed with a body lift.

CST does have a 7" LIFT KIT w/ 35" TIRES AND 8" WIDE WHEELS. These are on 18 inch wheels.

But the tires (Toyo mud) I want to use with 20-22 inch wheels wont fit without rubbing alot. 8 inches of clearance would be ideal.

I thought about that. I have a 2 1/2 front leveling kit now. That why I thought about getting the FabTech 6 inch lift and requesting 2 inch longer blocks for the rear. Then I would just leave the 2 1/2 inch kit on in the front. That would give me at least 8 inches

why do you think you need a 8"s of lift to clear 35's.... people clear a setup like that with a 3" body lift and a leveling kit....

if you get the cst you can say you have a CST and be way more badass instead of saying i have a fabtech like everyone else.... (not bagging of fabtech) i dont understand why you think you can't run 20's with the CST aswell... where did you get that idea?

I have been asking around and I have been told that the 6 inch lifts only work if you use an 18 inch wheel and it cant be that wide...maybe 8 inches or 9 max. Otherwise you have too much rubbing even with a lil trimming.

20-22 inch wheels on Toyo mud are 35.5 inch tall and a bit wider so that would even rub a bit more than just a 35.

i know at least 10 trucks on this site that are running a 20" wheel by 10''s wide with a 6" fabtech/ procomp.... you were miss informed. there is even a member that is running 22's on a 6" no problem. its all about backspacing of your wheels. rubbing has nothing to do with the diamiter.

how wide is the tire you are wanting to run and whats the backspacing the wheels aswell?

That is great news. I happen to have Diamo 12 Karat 20 inch wheels on my truck now. I am going to take my truck into Discount and have my tires rotated. I will ask them about the back spacing. This exact style wheel is not in production so I cannot find any info on them nor on the company.

WHich members trucks are running 20-22's on their trucks with 6 inch lift so I can check em out!

Thanks for your input and help!

Yes you can run 9" or 10" wide wheels easy.

Just get the Fabtech kit and run a leveling kit up front or you could do the DirtLogics up front but it'll cost more. Ride better though and would look trick.

I am afraid that if I put the 6 inch fabtech along with the existing 2 1/2 inch leveling kit then I would be too high in the front as compared to the rear. Fabtech lifts the front more than the back to even out the truck...maybe make it ride a skosh higher in the front. Thats why I think I'll need to request taller blocks in the rear.
