new strut for my 8" lift.....

ok so im kinda over this huge spacer ontop of my coilover (i have a CST 8" lift) so i was looking at the bilteins 5100's they make them for a 6" lift.... and they are a full 6" longer than stock.... they primaraly Primarily use it on the RCD 4-6" lift (they are adjustable 4 to 6"s) i also thought i would just put my full daystar 2.5" leveling kit on top getting me back to about 8.5" of lift..... so does that sound like it will work? im thinking it will.... but still a little scared to try it...

Should work just fine. You could also go with the dirt logic's or any other coilover replacement designed for a 04-06 with 6" of lift in the front.

no doubt bilsteins are great shocks. Where are you finding the stand alone extended lenght bilsteins?

I looked at the topguncustomz site, but I'm not sure I understand. Are you saying that you can get a new front shock that is 6" longer than the stock shock and retains the rest of the OEM coilover?

I had simply assumed these were made to replace an existing extended length coilover shock, not the factory unit. But in this case I hope like hell I'm wrong because I'll order those shortly if I am.

here is the link ya it just replaces the shock with in the coilover its 6"s longer then the stock one. and you can replace the spacer ontop of the coilover. if you look at the RCD 4-6" kit they use this shock in front to acheave the 6" lift they use no spacers or strut exstentions just a longer strut (shock). this is also what fabtech does on there standard kit. but i would rather have the bilsteins then the fabtechs.

I think you should just buy the DirtLogic's, throw a spacer on them or crank them.

Most replacement coilovers are adjustable so you can get more lift out of them.

So you think the dirtlogic is a better shock than the bilstein? Have you had (or experienced the ride of) them both?

Yes, I personally have the Bilstein 5100s on my truck but they use the stock coil. I've riden in a truck with DirtLogics and the ride was a little smoother on the smaller bumps. The Bilsteins take big bumps amazing but the little stuff they are kind of rough. . not too bad though. The DirtLogics are also more than double the price so what do you expect.

Bump Thump,

I was looking at the dirt logics also but I scored a set of fabtech shocks and coils for my truck from a buddy so I will just use them on my procomp lift until I can afford the dirts. My buddy has dirts and I belive he cranked them another 2' out of them at max out.

Good luck.
