Ball Joins 4X4

Thanks to this site and alot of searching I did the job yesterday on my 97 F150 4x4.

I put uppers and lowers in, I had never done Ball joints on this new of a truck as I work in the construction industry as a mech on boom lifts ect. And have a company truck I drive.

Anyways one thing I would like to add to the data base here is a little trick I used to get the lowers installed with no problems.
Mind you I didnt have a ball join tool and was to cheap to buy one
I stuck mine in the freezer the night before, after getting the old ones out with a bfh I then took a small hand held Maps gas tourch and heat the area where the new joint went. Ran and got the new joint from the fridge and pop right in by hand.
The left side I had to use a jack and a block of wood to apply pressure but only because I didnt heat it up enough and was running out of time.

I never had to remove the torsion bars either, I did it on the truck out side in the rain.. Nice day huh :/
I had longer in making a temp tarp than I had in the job itself. I had about 3.5 hr total in doing the job.

Again thanks for all the help and tip you all provide on this site.
Regards,
Emonster
