Talking Fabtech 7 1/2" Long Travel Kit Now Available

Today, I purchased the Fabtech Long Travel Control Arm Kit. I currently have the 6 1/2 Ultimate Lift Kit, so I only needed to purchase the control arm kit, as it uses the same springs and spindles. Since I'll only gain an inch of front lift, I won't be touching the rear. I will install the kit next weekend and post my comments and pics. I didn't get the dual shock cage, because it won't be available for a bit longer. In the interim, I will run the single shock in the factory position. I've been waiting for it's release for a while now, can't wait to get it done!

The guys at Off Road Warehouse told me Fabtech was delaying the release of the dual shock cage because of clearance problems with the cage and the 5.4l motor.

CR1 & ccla,

When I finish the install, all I will have to sell are the upper control arms. The only difference between the 6 1/2 and 7 1/2 inch kits is the 6 1/2 inch kit replaces the upper control arm and the 7 1/2 inch kit replaces both upper and lower control arms. I keep the same fabtech coil springs and spindles. But I will let you know.

DAVENSA,

From your description, I see you already have the 6 1/2 inch lift. In order to upgrade to the 7 1/2 inch long travel kit, you need to purchase the control arm kit, which contains BOTH upper and lower control arms. That kit alone cost me 1299.00 before taxes. The dual shock cage is supposed to go for around 450.00 without shocks. For those wanting the complete kit, control arms, springs, spindles, and rear lift, expect to spend about 2500.00 without shocks or installation.

Wink

I agree, and I did. Unfortunately, Santa, (my wife), wants something in return. So after a little negotiation, we each get an early Xmas present.

Exclamation

Brew1891,

If you're interested, I've got the Fabtech rear-end kit for that lift (shocks, 2" blocks and U-bolts) sitting in my garage gathering dust! Had 'em on my truck for about 3 months, took 'em off when I added the spindles and a taller rear-end kit about 2 months ago.
