Question What would you do?

Ok, I'm having a new frame put on my truck, old one got bent in an accident (long story).

Anyway, they're going to lift the truck off the frame to put the new one on. The body shop guy said he could easily install a body lift, whatever I wanted, but he doesn't do suspension lifts -- never done them.

With money not being a factor, what would you do, go elsewhere after the new frame for the suspension lift, do the suspension yourself (I don't have much of a tool collection), get a body lift AND the suspension lift?

I'd really like the suspension, as I'd like to still be able to haul stuff around like a boat. I've read all the previous posts, it seems that a suspension lift with the add-a-lead in the rear is the best in the long run for the truck. I'm looking at the Rancho or the Superlift (in the 3-4" range).

Thoughts, suggestions? Any help is needed.

Thanks

Well as long as they're gonna have the body off the frame I'd have them do a body lift. You could always add the suspension lift later. If you didn't have them do the body lift and then later you decided you wanted one it takes like 12 hours to install.

Get the Body lift now then suspension later.

Ccla, what body lift kit would you recommend, would this interfere with a brush guard, or how sturdy the bumper is?

Talking

I have the Performance products 3" lift kit. I does interfere with the brush guard but you can make it work. I did. The bumpers come with a relocation bracket, but the instructions do say that you can no longer tow with the bumper so you'll need a hitch.

Cool

If money was no option I would do it up completely, but for now I'd just get a body lift. Because if you go all the way you will need new tires and probably rims as well just to make it look right. You could get away with the current tires with just the body lift. Also with the bigger tires you would probably need to change out your gears in the axles, to compensate for the different sizes.
