Steering Stabilizer - Rear Sway Bar
Howdy all,
Anyone install a steering stabilizer or a rear sway bar on their trucks. What kind and did they bolt right on or did you have to drill mounting holes.
Thanks.........

Where did you get a 4inch body lift, I have never heard of a body lift bigger than 3inchs. Are you sure that it is 4inches.

Hey, LoneWolf...
I installed a Rancho damper. Only had to drill one hole in the passenger-side lower shock mount. This was on a '92 4x4, though. May be different on the newer trucks. After the hole was drilled, the rest was REALLY easy!!!
I definitely like the handling now, but it has changed some things for the worse. Handling in the dirt is excellent. Washboard has almost no effect. Big bumps are much easier, too. It's like installing a third shock absorber on the front end...wait a minute...it IS a third shock!!!
The shock and bushings were about $40, and the Ford bracket kit was about $20. Total was about $60 plus tax. Installation took about 20 minutes.

I installed the Hellwig rear sway bar. Simple bolt on. I also replaced the front sway bar bushings with polyurethane bushings from energy suspension. Corners are getting flatter.

I ordered a rear bar from Steeda, as well as the front urethane bushings and bar ends from Energy Suspension. Haven't got them yet, but once they are installed I'll report back.

Guys,
Do you have a part number for the Energy suspension sway bar bushings and end links?
Any install tips as well? Thanks for the info!

It was posted on this board somewhere in the last month or so. I wrote it down, but can't find the # in my desk. You can't order directly from Energy, as they don't sell to the public, but if you give an authorized reseller the part #, they can order for you.
Steeda didn't show a part # for an F150 application, but I confirmed that the part # posted somewhere on this board was the right one by calling Energy, and Steeda ordered them for me w/ the rear sway bar. Haven't received them yet.

Howdy All,
Thanks for the responses, currently I am looking into using front and rear sway bars off an expedition, the front appears that it will bolt right up, not sure about the rear yet.

The Energy Suspension part # is 4.5147R. In this case the R is for red. I understand there are other colors available. I chose red because I already had the end link bushings changed out in red. But, I told the guy I bought from that I would take any color available just to help the ride in the corners. They are simple to install. Took less than an hour and you do not have to raise teh truck off the ground if you do not want to.
