Question Bell Tech 4x4 Lowering Kit

Has anyone out there installed a Bell Tech (p/n 3932) lowering kit on their 4x4 yet?

Just curious about the install and any concerns you may have.

I am also interested in the Bell Tech 4x4 lowering kit. I found that Summit Racing has the lowest price of $319.95(US). If you do it, please take pictures before and after so we all can see.

You bet I will! For $320 it may be one of my first mods. If you check out a back issue of Super Ford, Inform Design had an F-150 (4x4) with this kit on it! They also had a nice body kit for the styleside, but the molds for that kit has been sold to CDC and Visteon.

I just saw a picture in the Lightning section of a lowered 4x4 parked next to an actual Lightning. Looked pretty nice. Are you planning on doing the install? Have you priced it out? I got an estimate of $300-400. I am a little leary though, because they never did a 4x4 lowering. My local SVT dealer won't touch it and said that it could void the suspension part of the warrany.

Question

I will attempt the install myself, it looks pretty straight forward. The toughest part looks like removing the rear spring hanger. An air chisel and grinder should take care of that. I assume that Bell Tech has done their homework on this 4x4 kit, my fingers are crossed. I would also add their sway bars while you're under there.

Everything that gets a suspension mod out here in Montana is always lifted. You might find me swinging from a tree when people out here get wind that I lowered a 4x4......he he. I may swing by the local "lift" shop and see what they would charge me.

FYI 38 Chevy,
The Pic in the Lightning section is a joke. BaBolt was kidding. He was just pointing out the difference of his lowered lightning next to a stock Lightning. Look closely and you'll see the Lightning badge on both.

The kit is on order, $326.90 to my door!! I just ordered the Bell Tech 3932 4x4 lowering kit from Summit. If I can figure out how to post pics, I'll show some before and afters. The kit is on back order, should have it in 2.5 weeks!!

Here is a link to my bone stock truck, less the Sport decals. The second photo is using a little Photoshop magic to lower it. The third pic is w/ Lightning wheels, body kit, and some touch ups. This is what I expect my truck to look like when all is said and done.
What do you think about white (painted) Lightning wheels? I think it would look pretty cool, kind of like a Saleen pick up! I have a white Mustang GT w/ white Cobra R wheels and it looks great (in my opinion).

DynoDan
how much did you lower the front? and how does it drive now?
I am also concidering putting it in too.
I am thinking of using the front kit, and lowering shakles. I am only looking for a 2 inch drop.
Thanks
Don

Don, I actually haven't lowered it yet (kit is on order). Those pictures were altered in Photoshop, a bit of digital trickery. The Bell Tech kit uses a keyed set up for the front end torsion bars, it's adjustable from 1-4". The rear is lowered a full 4", no adjustability.

DynoDan:
The pictures looked great. Especially the last one with the wheels. Also I noticed you added the white front bumper and removed the rear one. Looks great!!!

It's done. The 4x4 has been lowered, a total of 4.5" in the rear and 2.5" in the front. Here is the link

Looks like same height as a 4x2. Is this correct? Why only 2" in front. How easy was the install? Did you do it yourself?

Makes me want to do it sooner then planned.
