Talking Lift Finished Pics

Well, Here's the Finished Product.
A couple of notes though, First off 35's WILL NOT fit on a 2wd with a 3" spindle lift and a 3" body lift. I had to use a 1" Coil Spacer on the front and added 2" blocks to the rear. I still had to trim the metal inside the front wheel well behind the tire. You CANNOT see the trimmed metal though. I now have a total of 7" Lift in front And 6" Lift in rear.

And For anyone who wants to know I welded the Grille Guard to the Frame In the front.

That is one fine truck! Couple of questions, Where did you find the coil spacers and the rear blocks and how much did they run? Thanks in advance,
Mike

Well Mike, The Coil spacers were $7.00 each. Thats right $7.00 The Blocks came with new U bolts and were $25.00 or so. I ended up having to buy different U bolt though cause they were too narrow to clear the Axle. I got all this stuff @ a local Autoparts store. Autozone, Discount Auto Parts etc.

Anymore ?'s , just let me know.

I stand corrected. I thought they would fit, but what the hell do I know about a 2wd. Glad to see you got everything worked out. Truck looks great except for that LSU license plate. Dont worry, I will send you a Gators plate to finish that beast off.

They're made by Pilot I think. Got 'em at Pepboys. For like $40.00. They shine a white light with a slight yellow color. Not that Amber color. I think they rate @ 55 watts

Question

CCLA,

Ive never heard of spacers for the coils. How are they mounted and secured? Are they safe when you unload the suspension from the front end leaving the ground (no jumping..like hittin dips too fast)? How much and where did you have to trim the front fenders/wheel wells to clear the 35's when turning?

Thanks much,
DS

Man Dirtslinger, those coil spacers aren't going anywhere. They sit beneath the coil spring in the lower control Arm. Man We had to fight to get them in there. Had to rent a spring compressor from autozone. I got the spacers from Discount autoparts. They look like a big black doughnut. With a groove for the spring to sit in. Paid 7 bucks a piece for them. I saw like 10 different kinds of spacers but these seemed safest.
Yes I had to trim. In the front wheel well at the bottom there is a black plastic kicker thing behind the wheel. You can see the plastic from outside. It runs along the bottom of the fender back to the door. I had to take that off and the plastic well liner too. I had to trim behind these so that If and when the tire rubs, it rubs plastic not metal. I trimmed the bottom metal piece and hammered the top piece back. If you're gonna do this Get in touch with me and I'll explain better.

Cool

ccla,
thanks for the info on the lights. I am looking for a good quality pencil beam light for my lower grill insert. The ones I bought at PepBoys throw light everywhere, not what I really wanted. Last Sunday, Dirtslinger helped me hook them up to his battery. The lights look cool, but the light they throw, is a different story. :-(

Regards,
