Stock speaker size is 6"x8". Check the subwoofer forum, a few have reported good results with those boxes-

Ford lists the stock size as 6x8 however aftermarket replacement size is 5x7.

There are alot of good speakers that fit your truck, just depends on how much $$$$$ you can afford to spend.

GOOD LUCK

They are 6x8. Most aftermarket 5x7 models have mounting tabs for 6x8 vehicles as well. 5x7 is more common and most manufacturers make them and add tabs to the baskets for us 6x8 users. Some manufacturers (Pioneer for one) make true 6x8 models as well.

Check these out. Has anyone put a pair of these in or 2 pairs (front and back). If so how do they sound. They seem to be about the best you can get in a 6x8 size. There are many that are 5x7, but I figure that I can get a bit better bass response from the larger midrange driver.

Let me know what everyone thinks, also is the Kenwood eXcelon
a good brand in general for speakers?
