Survey of Screw VINs and build dates!

Hey fellow Screwees,

I have wondered when everyone's screw was built and so I am posting this thread to find out who is willing to tell. I think it would be safe to add the last part of your VIN that shows the plant and the series number. Mine is B37515.

I searched the history files and found no thread like this so hope it's not a repeat of something else similar, or at least for the Screw gang.

daveman,

wow! after looking at your photo, i'm having a hard time scratching that itch! please be kind and don't post too many pictures, okay... i might find myself having to take some anti anxiety medications until my kr shows up!

btw, your kr must have sat on the lot some time, eh? all for the better as the dealers are willing to deal when that happens!

Hey guys,

Logical,
So what are you scared of anyway? He//, I live all the way down to the coast of SC and you are opposite to the north. Damn, I'm not gonna bite, unless you are a chic, but then again we haven't met either.
Afraid mine and yours, trucks that is, are possibly sisters or are different by just a couple of digits in the serial number or something? What about you VIN?

On the lighter side, I've sent you a couple of emails and you have sent no replies. Are you scared to reply or do you just not want me to contact you that way?

Hey Troy,
Still need to keep scratching that itch until the truck is delivered, or you get rid of the fleas.

If my photos are making you anxious, then I guess they are doing what I intended them to do, make someone wish it were theirs. I'll try and not make it any more painful for you if I can resist.

I don't know how long my KR sat on my dealers lot but it had only 16 miles on it when I took delivery. What about the VIN on your present truck and it's date of birth?

Talk soon,
DaveMan

Daveman-
How could I possibly be a chick with a name like "logical"? I haven't been at my Email much lately....been wrapped up in a project here at home. No problem contacting me there....other than I am not so good at always answering. I may take a break from this site too for a while...I keep getting caught up in some of the stupidity that can go on here and don't have the willpower to ignore it. A wise man once said "Consider how hard it is to change yourself and you will realize what little chance you have of changing others", I gotta remember that, but some people just needs correcting ya know. Glad to see you picked the right color.

I don't have the VIN here in front of me but I'll check it against yours later tonight.

Hey logical,

Guess I wasn't thinkin', again, cause you're right, haven't met a single logical lady in a long time or at least none I can recall. Poor recollection seems to be a male trait of which woman always seem to bash us on. Poor recollection is otherwise known as CRS (Can't Remember S*it).

Troy,

Fill me in on an investment that does hold it's value, at least one that requires no maintenance or assosiated risks? I think my 401K has dwindled to the point I just don't want to know anymore, "ifin you what I mean".

As far as frivolous spending, you probably have a lot of friends right here on this site, so relax. What's the old saying, "Misery Loves Company" truck payment misery that is. If I had all the money I ever spent on cars and trucks I could probably buy almost any house or possesion I could want, but I probably wouldn't be any happier if I would have saved it so what the he//, objective is to be happy, S'Crew the rest. Pun intended this time.

Come on fellow screw owners, I know you are out there, or is this thread really stupid?

VIN #'s on Internet

I know the chances are slim, but you might want to reconsider posting your VIN number.

There was a guy in Atlanta, who they still have not caught, that was selling stolen Honda's. He would go to parking garages in Atlanta and get the VIN number. He would make a fake South Carolina title and take that to a Honda dealer and they would make him a Key. He would drive to the parking garage, open the car with the Key and drive off. He then sold the car using the SC title. The person who purchased the car would have the car taken away when they tried to title it in GA. A lot of people are out thousands of dollars because of this crook.

This goes to show you that if a thief wants your car, there is multiple ways to get it... So I guess posting your VIN number on the web does not matter, since all he has to do is walk up and look at your VIN number through the windshield. Kind of depressing ... isn't it?????

Hey screwfun,

You may be right, but I hate giving in to paranoia over every little thing that could get me. I have insurance for that reason and I don't buy cars from strangers anyhow so that selling a car business wouldn’t affect me except for the hassle of being the victim of theft.

If someone really wants my truck, then let them come and get it, cause if they have made up their minds they want it there's no stopping them anyway. I thought that it may make me a little more vulnerable but I also said, what the he//, there are dozen ways that some crook can get my money, my identity and my truck and there's not a damn thing I could do about it. I think the complete VIN is ridiculously simple to determine and so with that said it will remain as the plant ID and the series number.

Thanks for the tip and check out how I edited my original post. Maybe you are willing to participate now, hey?

Hey S'CrewLoose,

Long time no talk to. How did you get the exact day your truck was built? My door data plate just says April, 2001.

BTW
Picked up my Bedrug today and it looks great, got it for $349 installed. It took the installer about 20 minutes with a little help from the sales lady at my local truck camper shell dealer. I also was looking real hard at the new diamond plate tool boxes for the screws, real nice too.

Also, I upgraded my tires today as well to the LT265/70R17s and the dealer had to re-mount the two rear "P" tires as they could not get the new ones to balance out correctly. Now I will have to make another damn trip to the dealer for 2 new rear tires.

Talk to you soon
DaveMan

O.k., I don't have a digital camera, so a picture will have to wait. Daveman, here's the build date and "vital statistics" on my SCrew.

Plant Code: KC27552
Build Date: 6/14/01 (nameplate just reads "6/01", I found this date on a bright green sticker on the frame)
Purchase Date: 7/13/01 (a FRIDAY!!), Texan Ford, Katy, TX

2001 F150 SuperCrew Lariat 4x2
Black Clearcoat/Arizona Beige Accent
5.4 Litre V8
3.55:1 LSD
Cab Steps
Sliding Rear window
Class 3 Trailer towing (with skinny radiator!)
Bed extender
Leather Captain's Chairs (medium parchment interior)
6-disc CD changer

Future mods: None, we like it just the way it is. Well, o.k., maybe some alloys and a tonneau cover.

DAVEMAN,

You know, I really don't know where the info came from...It is legit. I just can't think of it right now...I'll do the research and get back to you...I'm going out of my mind putting in this remote start.....I tend to be a perfectionist with the wiring and stuff.......
