keypad

I am thinking of adding a remote keypad to my Screw. My question is where do I find the pats module. I can't seem to locate this unit. I have keyless entry but I cannot find the module. While I was looking for i did find a wire with a reset button on this under drivers side of the dash does anyone know what this is for? Any help would be useful thanks,Joe

The reset button you found maybe for the fuel pump when you have a crash, after the crash you will need to push this button or the fuel pump will not work, Check your owners manual to be sure.

how to check for presence of TCSM

It sounds like you may have a dealer-installed remote keyless entry/alarm system (i.e. the wire with the reset button).

One way to tell if you have a TCSM (Truck Central Security Module) which is the module that you need for the keypad and the remote entry system: Turn your key from Off to Run eight times, leaving it in Run the eighth time. (You have to do this within 10 seconds). If your door locks cycle, then you have a TCSM in your truck, if not you don't. (By the way, if the door locks cycle, turn the key back off)

The TCSM is a white box and is mounted on the firewall to the left of the brake pedal I believe.

buschman, thanks for the info, what I thought was a factory system turns out to be a Ford aftermarket keyless entry system. Talked to Gary at fordpartsonline and we decided i cannot do this mod. with the system I have. He thinks it might be possible but would like to here from someone who made it work. thanks
