New King Ranch knocking noise

Hi all,

I just bought a new SCrew about a week ago. It is a charcoal blue King Ranch. I love it.

Just a few days ago, maybe because I turned my stereo off, I noticed some knocking noises. The noises only happen when I put the truck in gear (reverse or forward). When it is idling in park or neutral, I don't hear it. This only seems to happen when the engine is cold. After driving about ten miles, the sound is no longer there.

Could this be Piston Slap? I tried to download a WAV file from a previous posting but the link was dead. After reading all of the horror stories about PS I am now afraid!

Thanks!

seems to me that if you really were hearing piston slap, you would hear it whether or not the truck was in drive/neutral/park, etc...
