Sorry if this has been discussed already. Searched the archives and couldn't find it.
I've got a Lariot with keyless entry and the alarm option. When I key in my code into the keyless entry, the alarm sounds after I hit the second digit (of 5 in my code). It stops alarming after I get my 5th digit in, but man is it annoying (especially to my neighbors).
Anybody else have this experience? Anybody able to have that deprogrammed?
Mine does that to. If you are fast enough, you can get the code in with no alarm sound, but you got to be damn fast. Never bothered to read if there is a programable delay in it. I don't use that enough to worry about it.

We all must have the system 4 made by code alarm for ford. the arm disarm is keyed off the lock unlock pulses from the keyless entry fob. Next time you are cleaning the interior if you accidentally hit the door lock button it arms the system 4. The alarm going off with the keypad coincides with the current sensor on the system 4 picking up the interior lights coming on. I do not like this feature but if it is defeated you will loose some protection. I do not have the manual with me, but I think there may be a delay feature. I hope this is helpful!

Thanks, guys. I'll have to check my manual or w/ dealer regarding a delay. It never occurred to me that the alarm system was monitoring the current usage, but that makes sense, now that you mention it. Meanwhile, I'll have to do some button pushing exercizes to see if I can get my code in before the alarm goes off. ha.
If it is a Ford alarm identical to the Code system 4, I don't think there is an adjustable delay. The system 4 is an add on to a factory keyless entry system so why are you using the keypad? Keypad is almost useless to me but I'm sure it will help in case of emergency.

If you have an "alarm" it must be an aftermarket/dealer-installed system. It may still have a Ford emblem, but it is made by CodeAlarm and doesn't always interface with the vehicle very well.
All F150s have the engine immobilization system (PATS)with the coded keys. If you have the Remote Keyless Entry system, then you have the Panic Alarm that you can command on or off with the orange button on the remote, but there is NOT a factory-installed alarm available.
Have your dealer troubleshoot your problem - they may be able to hook up the CodeAlarm system differently to eliminate the problem.
