Exclamation FX2 Sport/ LARIAT/ 4x4 Question

My first post so thanks for taking it hard on me

I'm looking for a 2006-2007 F150 and found several dealers who sel a F150 FX2 SPORT for $18000-$19000 with a milage of 9,000 to 17,000.

My questions:

1. Is there anything different on a FX2 SPORT? Things like differential/gear/ engine and so on?

2. Why are the FX2 SPORT generally so low on price?

>> 2007, FX2 SPORT,4 doors, Fog Lights, power vent window, 10000miles, grey for $18500 LINK ( http://apps.dealerconnection.com/dea...erPACode=00269 )

>> 2006 White LARIAT, 4door, white, 25000 miles, $19995 LINK ( http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...eadExists=true )

What would be a better deal if the exterior and the interior looks on all three vehicles good. ????

Thanks, and like i said It's my first post.

So, FX2 SPORT or a

I dont think that FX2 are generally low on price. If you was buying brand new and you added some options you could be close to 40K. What I do think is that not to many people that buy trucks need a 2wd. I feel that the majority of people that buy trucks use them for work. I have a 07 FX2 and I love it. I paid 38K for in 07. I dont need 4wd b/c I dont use it for work or drive it off road or in the snow. I use my truck only to haul my quads and motorcycle.

A lot can play a factor on a vehicle's price

That FX2 has cloth seats
I'm not sure if it has the trailer tow package b/c it says it has the preparation (not sure what that means)

Engine
4.6 or 5.4

Gears

All the trucks can come with different gearing 3.55 or 3.73

I love my FX2 but I'm not feeling the one in the link you have above

You need to decide if the 4 wheel drive is important to you. If not, then it is something extra to maintain and costly if you have to repair it. You also need to decide on the 5.4 engine or the 4.6. Other than that, it is just trim packages. Leather as opposed to cloth, etc.

Welcome, newbie!

go to Fordvehicles.coem and learn what equipment is standard and optional on F-150's. Packages have not changed much from 2007 to 2008.

A few notes:
For any trim level truck, you can add $8k of options quite easily. You can get a 4WD Lariat for $36k, or a 2WD XLT for $40k. Each one would have some unique features and equipment.

Someone could have paid $12k under MSRP for any 2004+ F-150 brand new. New 2008 FX2 Sport Screw can be as little as $33k MSRP, so $18k for a used one is not surprising.

4WD = $3k extra and about 1mpg worse FE. Do you want it?

IMO, that Lariat is a better deal than the FX2 Sport, not knowing the options each has. Lariat has the 20" wheels. Not enough info on the 4x4 one to judge.

Spend time @ www.edmunds.com and www.kbb.com to get better private party pricing for these. If you don't know what options it has, assume none. Negotiate from there.

From the looks of the two in the pictures, I like the Lariat much better. That would be my choice.

Thanks for ur responds guys. I've droped the 4x4 because i really don't need it. I want off road but in reality there is no need for me to have it.

The LARIAT is nice, i went to the dealer again and it looks clean insida and outside. It has no power vent window and the back bumper is slightly bend in right where the tow connector is. which is aclt not really bad and u dont see it. one thing i noticed is that with 25000 miles the dealer give u no warranty, I have to get extended warranty via FORD. So I don't know if there is something i need to look out for.

I like the LARIAT better but the price/ milage of the FX2 SPORT is pretty good and makes me think. so,... I'm here and there in the middle, torn back and forth between them both.

25000miles for a 2006 LARIAT isn't that bad correct?

25k miles in 2years, maybe 2.5 years? Not bad at all. Oh, and you are worried about 25k miles vs. 10k? These trucks are good for 250k miles. @ 25k miles, you still have the OEM warranty until 36k or 3 yrs, so find out when it was originally sold to know how much time you would have to use up those 11k of warranty miles. My advice is to buy a truck, driveit until close to the OEM warranty will run out and then evaluate how much trust you have in it to decide if you need that extended warranty.

Negotiage the best price on either one. Assuming the price delta is $1500, that is about $25/mo more with good credit (assuming financing). Is that truck worth an extra $25/mo to you? If you like the Lariat, offer $18k and see what happens.

That's not a good deal on the loan. Have you checked out the new ones to see what kind of price/payment you can get?

I thought that the deal is not good at all. I went to a few dealers but the lowest they can go is 26000-27000 for a new '08 lariat, crewcab.

So, I'm kind of confused because 1. the ford dealers don't tell me when the new '09 f-150 comes out and 2nd they will not give me a 0% for a f-150. They say this is not available on the f-150.

I even went and checked out a GMC Sierra but it was 28400 driveout for a brandnew one. I also checked out a dodge and the salesperson said that if im not in a rush i should wait for the new models coming in, espessially the new '09 RAM.

I'm here in columbus, ga and went all the way to Auburn to check for a vehicle but coudn't find a good price....

if u got some ideas, im open for it... thanks guys
