Gas Mileage is worse in the SCREW

I 've got a 2008 screw that I traded in my 05 scab for and the first thing I've noticed is I'm getting about 5mpg less than I did in the old truck. Does the flex fuel engine get worse mileage. I've also noticed the truck doesn't seem to have the same get up and go as the last. Surely it can't weigh that much more. Its got 20inch tires as opposed to the 18's on the last as well.
Anyone?

ermm .... tires are larger causing more weight for one as well as a larger cab with added weight there.

The engine howver is larger im guessing causing your decreased gas milage.
Wat engine did u have in the old one? 4.6 5.4 9.6 =)

Are you using the flex fuel? It is designed to run with flex fuel which does not have the same amount of energy that normal fuel does. So flex fuel already gets worse mileage to begin with, and then the added weight of a supercrew brings you right around that ball park. The reason flex fuel is "saves money" is because the government subsidizes it thus making it cheaper at the pump.

300 pounds extra for the same trim/equipment in a Screw.
Heavier wheels.

If you think it has less power, you are probably using more accelerator pedal which uses more fuel.

If you are actually putting in E85 fuel, expect 33% lower FE.

Same engine/trans/gears?

E85

When I ran E85 in my 2006 Lariat Screw, 20 inch stock Pirellis, my mileage dropped to around 11 in the city, down from 14.5 running regular fuel. I quit using E85 because it costs more to fuel with E85 than it does with regular!

The government actually thinks they know what's good for us. The only winners are the farmers making a bundle off of us.
