Arrow Towing Questions

Ok so I have a 04 screw 4x4 5.4L lariat. I was just wondering how can i make it tow more than its suggested towing capacity? anything that i can add or do to make it pull some more? thanks

How much weight are you wanting to pull and how often will you be towing are the 1st things I would look at.

The OEM Tow rating is based on the limitations of the brakes, tires, engine, transmission, axles, springs, frame, wheelbase, in addition to many other less expensive components. If you plan on upgrading all of those, go for it! The cheapest way to upgrade all of those to to replace your truck with a 3/4 ton, though.

Sorry, legally, it is difficult to even achieve the OEM tow rating for almost any vehicle. Exceeding it?

Now, if this is something you want to do once or twice, F-150's perform well over their rating capacities. If you plan to do it often, time to upgrade.

I have the same truck and I wouldn't pull anything over 8K pounds. Also I would have to put my 33" tires back on. By the way nice goat, I was lucky enough to have a 1966 one back in the day!

Ummm, no.

Umm, yeah. Any 3/4 ton will do great, and get shortest gears for gas engine or tallest gears for diesel.

Please do yourself a favor and use your friends truck. Half ton trucks in general can only do so much and please think about the safety of others on the road !

Is that a super sized box scraper on that tractor? Where would you use that?
