Stock Radio - Seek

Noticed the other day that my seek button on the steering wheel only seeks to preset stations. Whereas the one on the radio seeks all stations that will come in.
Shouldnt the seek button on the steering wheel seek all stations to, not just the presets?

I've got almost the same problem except opposite. I can't seek to just my pre-sets. I would love to but it goes to the next station.

I believe if you are in 'category' mode, the seek button goes to the next/previous station in that category.
That wouldn't explain why the steering wheel and dash seek buttons worked differently.
Sounds like you got the best of both though.

My '08 does the same thing. Doesn't bother me though. Only listen to a handful of stations anyways... IMO, if you can't be satisfied with 12 presets, then you're just too difficult and impossible to please.

Yeah well that works great if you stay in the area that the presets are set to.
Once your out of that area then its another story, so I either gotta stop traveling or I gotta hold my arm up for 5 minutes and continually hit the button on the radio to find something.

I wish the seek on my steering wheel went to only my presets. Only listen to what I have preset anyway.

Amen! If I wanted to listen to alternative christian death-metal I would have it as one of my presets. I don't. Or CBC. Or French. The scan button on my steering wheel is essentially useless to me.

Somebody please, please tell me what "catagory" mode is and how to get my radio in it so I can finally find a use for the steering-wheel scan control.

My steerign wheel only has cruise control buttons. You guys must have the fancy shmancy lariats. I went for the FX4 because I do not like chrome bumpers and faux wood grain. No offense to anyone here with lariats.

None taken.

No, that's a lie... I am deeply offended.

My "fancy-schmancy" Lariat doesn't have chrome bumpers. They're "Pueblo Gold" (wasn't that a band from the 70's?).

And the salesman told me specifically that the Lariat was fancy... but not schmancy.

If you wanted the schmancy option you had to get into a King Ranch.

That's cause you got the steerign wheel option. My FX4's steering wheel however has all the "fancy-schmancy" buttons the Lariats do.
