I think one of the roll up covers like the Jack Rabbit would be more convienent than the type that flip. I have an Access roll up soft cover and it's convienence is great.

i just want a hard cover that is waterproof and can either allow me full use of the bed, or come off easy enough when needed

I've had a Fold-A-Cover hard tonneau on my last few trucks (see gallery). It'll fold forward to allow you to use the bed. Or, it can be removed completely in less than 5 minutes.

It's made from four pretty stout 1/2 thick aluminum panels. The front and rear panels both lock. It's solid and secure, but it's also about 60 pounds. Easy to install, but did I forget to mention it's heavy?

It's a good compromise for those who want the security of a hard tonneau but also want easy access to the whole bed.

I have an Undercover on my truck and like it alot. It's a hard, locking cover that flips up vice rolling though. The best part about it though is it only weighs 58lbs and I've removed it myself 3 or 4 times when I needed the full use of the bed. It's a little easier with 2 people simply because it is big, but it can easily be done by 1 person if need be. I'd highly recommend this cover to anyone.

I've been looking at the Under-cover. Looks like the best for security and removal.

I had the Undercover on my '06... and I will most likely get one for the '99 if we keep it much longer.

Here's what it looked like:

Also, I resold it for $350 after using it for 2 years...

They rock.

Here's another happy Undercover customer. Outstanding product and one of the best purchases I have made.

I have an Extang that pops up. I wish I had gone with the Undercover. I can get it from a place in my hometown for 500 bucks. As far as price goes. I dont feel that there is a more viable option.

I went with the Armorlid. Pretty much the same as the Undercover. Easy to remove and replace.
