Truck Jerking on me

I have a 2001 supercrew 4.6 V8 and driving along my truck will just jerk. It started out only doing it mostly when going up hills on an incline but now it does it more frequently. If I give it more gas it kind of goes away but not all the way. I have put a new fuel filter on it recently. My truck has 90k miles on it and Im thinking its got to be fuel of spark related dont think its my transmission. Anyone have this happen and what was it. Also I cant find spark plugs just by glancing anyone know where i can find descriptions where they are I'd like to change them myself instead of paying the dealer an arm and a leg. I'm going to put some fuel injector cleaner in it tonight well see how that works. I'd appreciate any help.

I've had that happen with a couple different vehicles though not my screw. Turned out to be plug wires...

I agree (with both, the g/f & the wires). I haven't had it happen to my SCrew but I have had it happen to a couple of cars in the past and replacing the wires helped. Also may not be a bad idea to replace the cap & rotor and you'll be complete in that maintenance area. Hope that works for you!!

The first thing I thought of when reading your post was plug wires...lift the hood when it's dark out with the motor running. Most of the time it will be pretty obvious if you do this.

Heh..a bit dated on the ignition technology....I thought Ford went over to the COP Ignition Systems (EDIS) back in '96.

I had that happen to me as well in a car I had. It was as if I was putting my foot to the floor on the throttle and then taking it off in rapid succession. It turned out I had a vaccume line off. Maybe you have a crack in a line? That is one of those things that can drive you nuts trying to find it. Good luck.
