Time for stage II....MOOOORRRRR POWERRRRR

Been awhile since I have been on here. I started a thread some months back but then I got sidetracked and wasn't able to get moving on these things...so I'm back!

Some of you remember my trials and tribulations with my truck in the past... Installed a Vortec...blew a motor....built a motor....installed the Vortec....uninstalled the Vortec.....installed a Whipple.... PHEW!

Well the truck has been running like a champ for well over a year now.. We had to replace the wiring harness as it had been beat to you know what in the desert's of Baja but other than that it has been great.. It's time for Stage II (Or is it like 5?) of my journey. Here is what the plan is:

1. Convert to 8-Rib
2. Overdrive Pulley (Metco 12%) < Maybe
3. Smaller Charger Pulley (2.85")
4. Install Boost-A-Pump
5. Convert to E-Fans
6. New Dyno Tune

Most of the parts have been ordered and we should start working on it in a few weeks. Looking forward to see how much power she puts out!

Photo of the truck in the wilds of Baja!

Right on.

Interested in the 8 rib conversion. Is this a FEAD drive or a complete pulley upgrade?

Not impressed with the spot light covers!!! I'am a smiley face kinda guy!

I am doing a complete pulley upgrade. Below is the list of pulleys.

MOTORCRAFT YB3140 < AC Clutch Pulley
MOTORCRAFT YB3142 < AC Clutch Coil
MOTORCRAFT GP720 < Alternator Pulley
GATES 38052 < Idler Pulley
DORMAN 300006 < Power Steering Pulley
GATES 38028 < Tensioner Pulley (x2)
GATES 38022 < Idler Pulley (x2)

I am still in the air on the crank pulley and whipple pulley. Metco makes a ~12% overdrive harmonic dampening pulley but I have heard I could also use the interchangable pulleys from the Lightning (see below):

http://www.southfloridapulleyhq.com/.../ps_ics_ps.htm

Any input on that? The easiest path is a 2.85" Whipple Pulley plus the 12% overdrive Metco Pulley. That should get me to 16 psi maybe???

Yeah you need to go with the parts list above as the DUB system is for a FEAD, separated belt for the blower.

Only other thing you can do is aquire a Roushxharger bridge and extend the whipples snout.

Yea I figured as much. I will go with the Metco overdrive pulley and 2.85" charger pulley. Should get me well over 15 psi. Wonder how much power she is going to make!

Again ..... LOTS!!!!!!

Shame you can't run that Whippy off a separate belt thou.

Maybe you should have replaced the IC barbs like I did. Gonna need allot of coolant flow to keep er cool. Maybe even a KC?

The pair of 5/8 barbs that sick out of the Intercooler.

They are mega restrictive. Like 1/2 ID. Never an issue for most as they ain't going for 600 at the tires.

Here's a pic of one vs a 3/4 brass barb.

A few year back I popped them barbs off, drilled and tapped the holes 1/2 pipe.

Is that the actual radiator that sits in the valley of the V8 or the heater exchanger? I run an aftermarket heat exchanger.

That's the Intercooler core. Sits under the blower in the turkey pan. Bolts the mid plate.

EDIT: Also, did you relocate the IAT sensor into the manifold?

Ahh okay so I am SOL on that for now... we will see what happens and go from there. And yes we relocated the IAT sensor when we first installed the kit!
