4.6 F150 turbo or supercharger

I have a 4.6 L v8 f-150.

Would I be better off with a turbo kit or super charger on my 4.6 V8?

it has roughly 150k on it.

6" lift 35s and 456 gears front and rear.

before it goes any further

what is your budget ?

can you fabricate and weld ?

if it blows the motor or transmision is that going to be an issue?

is this your daily driver and can you afford for it to be down for a while

at 150,000 miles i would not do either.

It is my daily driver. The sooner it could be installed the better. Down time is bad time.

Budget is based on best bang for the buck.

I personally can't fabricate but have the resources that can.

do you have $6k for this project?

i think a base procharger or turbo is going to be in the $5k range. you will need dyno tuning. this is not including installation or any other upgrades.

for a lifted truck i just cant see one being any better than the other. On a 150k mile vehicel I think both would be a hugh waste of money.

i think both might, might make it have similar performace as a new 5.0 stock. i dont think either will give you the low end grunt that i would want with a 4x4.
if you had a 5.4 you would have more options.

with that setup, you do not want a centrifugal setup, unless you've converted it to blow thru and waste gate it...

I saw an AED kit for a 4.6 on ebay last week, dunno if it's still there or not, but IF it were my truck, I'd use the termi cobra M112 kit from tork tech and enjoy after MAF, injectors and a solid tune

Yeah right! Like Pro-Charger doesn't mass produce and stock shelves. The only reason they don't delete kits is because the only thing needed to stick one on a motor is a mounting plate that gets cut on a water jet. Simple enough. You save a file on a computer and cut the metal at anytime. Outside of that it's just the tubing and the various bends and straights which are needed for any and all vehicles in a variety of combinations.

I'm not aware of any Whipple kits that are discontinued nor Kenne Bell but there's probably a few. Storage of those castings is not cheap and keeping them around for the one guy that comes along 15 years later isn't worth it. Not to mention that by that time there's so many better options it's just dumb. Kinda like the guy wanting to supercharge a 95 Mustang. Waste of money. Coyote Swap and drive away with more ho then he would have sc'ing the old 302.

Would sure be nice if you would quit trashing every blower company out there except Pro-Charger. No one respects you when you do that Crash. It's old. Get over yourself and your un-natural obsession with one product.
