Procharger at 8 PSI... 425 HP 535 FT/LBS! A T-88 and a 300 shot- 1000/933 at 5400. He shifts about 62-6500. So 10 years later we pegged the dyno. It made 200 HP at the wheels stock and ran 17s stock!
Not to start a war but 535lb/ft sounds like a load of crap. That's at least 80 more lb/ft at that boost level then what should be expected and far more than any Procharger claims. Hp being a product of torque should also be higher at this torque level. As a comparison I pulled up an article from truckin mag. So I'm curious as to how you get that much torque? http://www.truckinweb.com/tech/engin...0/viewall.html
Yes, you are right Twinscrewd, we were running 8 PSI and spraying a 50-shot at the time. Later we installed one of Mad's pulleys and went to 12 PSI and we saw the gain was approximately the same as a 50-shot. Sorry for the confusion. We gained 60-70 HP because Nitrous REALLY works with a blower.
My mistake. I own it. I often forget because I never sprayed Project 02 even though a system was installed on it. Now it runs 3 stages if needed.
Yes but the OP has made it a very clear point was he doesn't want a race truck! In my OPINION, a front mount is major overkill for what the OP desires. So my statement of who in their right mind that only wants maybe 450rwhp tops would do a front mount turbo, still stands. If he wants to then oh well, his truck, his choice, just my opinion on the matter after all.
Moot point.
If money is not an option and if I had my choice I'd run a turbo at 450rwhp. At altitude, turbo's make their own atmosphere i.e. turbo diesel's pull the worlds loads up grades with zero power loss.
At 8500 feet last year I was not making 8psi on my truck. If I had a turbo, I would of been making 8psi.

I agree. Little parasitic loss is the key to gaining 100 HP over a belt drive compressor at the same boost level and using a 3-core IC. On mine, I put out 367/400 with a P-1SC so I gained 105 HP with the turbo.
Running a T-67 PS, it was easy for my '02 to make 478/542 at 12 PSI on my 4.6 5-speed. I had Nitrous installed but never sprayed it. Mark started with a T-76 on his 5.4 automatic, and now runs a T-88 plus has 3 stages installed ready to spray if needed.
Graphs are posted in the Dyno graph "Stickey" post. You can mark our progress over the years.
My statement wasn't against turbo setups in general..
Theres nothing wrong or bad about running a turbo at 450rwhp. Lol It was about him going through the fabrication and cost required to do a FRONT mount turbo for a guy that wants no more than 450rwhp. That's just the way I see it though, it may be worth it to you or someone else especially if you have future plans for increasing power.

Hit 13psi and kissed the motor good buy lol 40lb injectors procharger and bunch of other stuff.
Makes sense. At that boost level you would need at least 47lb injectors, a fuel system, upgraded MAF sensor, true duals, headers, a perfect tune etc etc.
had true duals maf upgrade headers just testing limits of bottom end had a forged one ready to go in. Doing reassembly now 60lb injectors also going for 15 to 18

What power level were you at?
13psi doesn't tell us jack.
I'm willing to bet you were running out of pump or winding the engine too high.
I ran the hell out of my vortech on 12psi with stock exhaust manifolds. Bumping up to another 1psi would not have blown the engine.
