Boosted Trucks & Brakes

So it has come time to upgrade the brakes. Curious what everyone else is using? I elected to go with the EBC setup. Sport rotors (GD7448) and yellowstuff pads (DP41696/2R). Being a two wheel drive is a bitch on these trucks as many of you know due to the rotors and bearing/hub being one piece. I was very pleased to find the EBC kit changes this. Now the rotor and bearing are seperate pieces and should I need to replace either in the future I will be free to select any rotor I want. The setup looks just like the Centric setup which elimanates the stupid one piece design.

I was planing on doing the Baer Brakes EradiSpeed-Plus One http://www.summitracing.com/parts/BAE-2261029/ with EBC Yellow stuff and baer rears with EBC Yellow. At the track my rear brakes get horribly warped and make terrible noises when I tap the brakes at the end lol.

Wow. Odd that the rear brakes went. My front ones warpped. Troyer reccomended this kit
http://www.autoanything.com/brakes/75A5499A0A0.aspx but I decided I wanted slicks and brakes. I emailed EBC a few months ago with my needs and they felt the yellowstuff pads and drilled and slotted rotors would work. Guess I'll find out.

I have had good luck with my brake performance zinc plated dimpled and slotted rotors and napa adaptive one pads. Im also supercharged and on 26's.The rotors are also 2 piece and the pads are super low dust , They is actually come as an inside and an outside pad.The reason I went with the brake performance rotors was the Lifetime warranty against warping. They have the best warranty I could find.

I would love a big brake kit, however I could not bolt on my factory 17" aluminum wheels/tires at the strip. They weigh 23lbs less each than the Roush wheel/tire combo. But PM me a price. I might reconsider.

My front are horribly warped as are my rear. My boss turned his rotors twice before buying cross drilled / slotted and hasnt had any issues at all. My rear are only badly warped from doing long brake stands trying to get my stupid KDW2s slightly sticky.

I like the Baer Plus Ones because it gives the look of the big rotors but it also actually helps as its more surface area. napa adaptive one pads are very good too. They use different compounds on the front and rear pads to make a very good combo. EBC makes a hell of a pad though and should be plenty good for your truck OP

i usually only get 5 to 6 months our of slotted or cross drilled rotors.. and they warp up bad! i had heat cracks on my last set of power slot rotors. now i just put the cheap ones from autozone with the 1 year warranty and get them replaced every year

I am running Rotorpros drilled and slotted rotors with Wagner ceramic pads on my truck and they work great. I will be going with centrics replacment hub once these are worn out.

Not sure if you were asking me but I bought the parts from racemart.com they were just a little cheaper summit and about $100 cheaper on the motors than anyone else.

I put my set up in its own thread a little while ago. I like them but I am not sold on the so called premium pads that came with the rotors so I will probably look into the EBC pads in a few months after ive gotten some use out of these.

Heres the thread:

I'm loving them! Just spent four days in the mountains where I drove the hell out of the truck and I was impressed. They have also been down the strip a few times. Stopping power is great.
