This is the greatest thing ive seen since sliced bread! Quick Q, anybody done this with a 4.6 Truck and the old 4.6 Cobra motor? Just a thought for me when rich evil grandma passes.

sorry if you already told us but will the trans bolt up or will there be some adapters needed and how are you gonna get past the wiring for the trans and transfer case
No adapters needed, it will bolt right up and the wiring is not going to be a big deal. The tricky part is going to be getting a 3V ECU to talk to a 4V motor

it's a much easier swap
back on topic mcdover can you disable the VCT in the tune???? if you can then it'd be easier just to do it that way than wire in a dummy sensor or something

Actually that would be very easy to do, VCT is done with oil pressure to engauge and disengauge. In the tuning part you will just have to change the timing tables to stock GT500, as VCT is actually mechanical in the 3v head/cam set up.
The tuning part probably wont be the big of deal as most tuners have stock files for GT500s it wouldnt be to bad I wouldnt think.

Well, I have the foremost GT500 tuner in the country on board to do the tuning and he doesn't think it's going to be easy.
Never said it would be easy, VCT isnt an issue is what I'm sayin. But for the foremost GT500 tuner in the country I wouldnt think it will be to bad overall for him to get a good basic tune, but that doesnt mean any part of the process will be easy

I had to order a LOT of hoses. The trouble was finding the correct part number. Since my local Ford dealers are pretty much worthless, I went through Tousley Ford up in Minnesota. Mike M. sent me a bunch of catalog pictures and I picked out the stuff I needed. Great people to work with and they only charge 10% over cost. The big hold up has been two heater hoses on the back of the motor. Everything shipped out today, so we should be back on track next week. Got me a new radiator ordered today too. Hopefully, I'll have it on a trailer to the tuner within a couple of weeks.
