Pros/cons of deleting EGR?

what are the pros and cons of deleting the EGR? ive heard that if you delete it that it would raise intake charge temps because the recirculated gases give a cooling affect. is this true or not.

also, im thinking about getting a stage II port and was wondering what rotor stripping is?

thanks

Yes EGR does cool the motor, thats how it reduces NOx. EGR doesnt even engauge at idle or WOT, really not much of a reason to delete it.

The only reason the delete it would be if a supercharger kit won't allow it, mainly 4.6 owners.

Pros/cons of deleting EGR?

For me,
pros = it cleans up the engine bay and makes it a lot easier to change the plugs on that side.
cons = you will loos some gas mileage!

I deleted mine because Ford EGR's are notorious for becoming a problem, it cleans up the engine bay a little, and whatever effect it could have on fueling was taken care of in the tune. That was around 40,000 miles ago and it's never been a problem.

The EGR must be switched off in the tune or the CEL will come on.
