What happens if you remove the blower snout?

Been a reader for a while, but finally joined today!

I want to change upper blower pulleys, have a shop press, and was wondering if it could be done easily by removing the blower snout.
But, I don't want to learn by mistakes!

i take it is a eaton blower, if so i herad once you just use a big screw driver to pry it off according to jdm wish i ahd the email still but i didnt like the fact that i was going pry on a 4 thousand dollor blower, use the lower crank pulley it will also keep you from belt slipage.

Thanks bluebeast06, you're right in that I have an Eaton on an 03 HD.

But the top pulley is a very tight press on. A screw driver won't even come close to doing anything. Neither will 'standard' pullers.

I already have an upper pulley from a Lightning, which gives a 2 psi boost on the harley. No other changes needed, not even the belt! Would really like to iuse it. But, I need to do the R & R.

So, I was wondering what would happen if I took off the front, the snout with the pulley attached and used a shop press for the R & R.

You could do it that way,,you'll just have the oil to deal with.
Don't they make a pulley removal tool for that?

It looks like you could use a small pulley puller!

hey phill i talked to matt from performance evolution like a month ago, he said he wanted to get a in house dyno if everything works out he said maybe by oct.

There is a pulley puller made just for Eaton. If i were you i would change to a bigger lower before a smaller upper. This way you dont have to worry about belt slippage.
