Supercharger with Tranny Issues?

I am looking at putting a supercharger on my '06 5.4 and I was wondering if anybody has had problems with their transmission not holding up under the extra power? I see a lot of Q&A about engine performance and how much boost it can handle, but I am afraid that the tranny will give up long before the engine.

I only have 20k on the truck but I put a edge programmer on it at about 5k and I do drive it pretty hard. I just don't want to be setting on the side of the road kick myself in the rear a couple months after the install.

My transmission is holding up pretty good. I have a little over 10k miles on my truck with the supercharger.

How much boost are you running and do you know anyone with 50 or 60k that has been trouble free?

I have always said that I "think" the transmissions are the weak link in the drivetrain.

I've got 50K miles on my truck and trans doesn't "feel" as crisp and smooth as it once did.

BUt I have no factual data to back up what I said, only a feeling.

I installed mine at 50K and I am now at 89K and mine is still holding out ok.
I am how ever putting 489tq to the wheels so I dont expect mine to last much longer and I also tow a 6000lb boat. You should be fine installing a SC on your truck

I am suprised that it lasted 40k with that much power. How much money have you put into the engine to make those type numbers?

I have put in more than I wanted to. I had a injector go bad and caused me to run lean and I detonated in cylinder #4, after the motor was pulled we could of just replaced the plug and be on our way . So while it was apart I went ahead and added forged internals to crank out some real power. I have around 7K in the motor.
