how much boost can a stock 5.4 3v handle?

I would love nothing more than to strap a supercharger atop of my baby! My only fear is how much can she handle with stock internals? The last thing i want to do is take away any of the trucks dependablity. i use it for towing a camper in the summer and snowmobiles in the winter so i need to count on her for long trips and not just a friday or sat. night joy ride. I also heard that if you get the roush charger and have a dealer install it then it wont void yuor waranty???? any info will be appreciated!!

Its really all in the tune, but for what you run id say 10 psi with a great tune you should be ok. I have seen people run 12 psi and say its ok, but that a fine line if you ask me.

got my roush about 1000 miles ago love it dont have any tuning or anything yet, did pull my 18' fiberglass boat loaded with crap pretty good. im running 7 psi stock troyer will only up the boost to 8-8.5 with out long tubes or ported blower. but overall great kit everything is all there and the stock roush tune seems to run smoother than when i had an edge.

IMO, in stock form all of the kits are/should be problem free, dependable and provide years of service. 8.75-9

I've heard of 12 psi max. but usually any kit gives 8-9 psi anyways to start.

most of us with 04-07's (non cents) started with 8psi or less and went up from there

For internals,,the rods would be the weak point.
But,,if your going to put rods in,,you don't want inferior pistons on top of good rods.
So,,if your going to beef up a motor,,the proper way to do it is forged crank, rods, and pistons!

I run a 2.5" exhaust but when I redo it,,it will be all 3"
