why wont a lightning swap wprk for me?

cant I just put a svt intake on it? I was wanting to do the swap so I could spend under a 1k for a friends stock stuff I guess ill just build my own turbo kit for cheap i dont see spending 4/5k on a s/c kit

the Lightnings used the 5.4 2v while they new motors (04-08) are all 5.4 3v. its another intake valve and also VCT which I dont believe the 2v has.

Anyway, a lightning swap only works on 2v motors. You may be able to pick up some used parts. I know ive seen a few people selling intire kits for cheap.

If What I told you in my first post didn't make sense, then you really souldn't waste your time "trying" to build your own turbo kit.

You dont see spending 4-5K on a s/c kit, well if you dont spend that much on a turbo kit, it will be nothing but cheap, weak, and unreliable.

ahh no....we've talked a few times mainly about how i have a 2wd...but anywho i know my sig is easily forgoten so its cool

but 2wd and 4wd doesnt make a difference on the s/c

no not really.. if you have the capability of building your own kit tools and fab and all and the resources of some of the best speed shops and help I can piece together a nice little turbo kit cheaply and will rival the 4k sts kit

You can source Ford modular exhaust manifold plates pre-fabbed for less than $100. That's really the only hard part. You can buy assorted bends in SS or mild steel and build from there. If you have access to a TIG and decent welding skills it isn't difficult. Pick the right turbo and you'll blow any STS setup away. turbomustang.com is full of info about fabbing up kits from scratch...that's the place to post.
