5.4L manifold to 4.6L engine adapters

I wrote a few companies that make the adapters for mustangs and got a reply from Modular Mustang Racing today and said they would give it a try!! thats so awesome for everyone with a 4.6L 2v engine. we will be able to use the 5.4L lightning manifolds now if they come through. Anybody that wants this to happen send them guys a email and let em know how bad we want this.

The 5.4 intake will not fit the 4.6, the 5.4 block is wider. Now you can use 4.6 intake on a 5.4 with thoes spacers but I dont know if they are made any more.

you can make an adapter to make it work but it will probbaly raise the manifold a good inch or 2 possibly requiring an aftermarket hood

yeah i know it dosent fit! i know first hand getting sold the wrong manifold! What i was saying was a spacer/adapter to fix my problem of a wider intake.

azmidget91 thats the price i would gladly pay to put a 5.4L manifold on a 4.6L.

What is your end goal with doing this swap?

Adapting a lightning intake manifild/blower to a 4.6 block?

I was sold a 5.4L allen supercharger kit for a 4.6L by mistake and now that they are out of buisness im screwed. I spent allot of time and money getting all the parts ready for my buildup and not to mention the three month long wait for my Troyer custom tunes! Im just ready for my truck to be put back together and also help my fellow 4.6L 2V trucks guys get the power they have always wanted from a lightning swap.

Is your engine torn down?

Is it still in the truck? Does it run in it's current condition?

There are 5.4 blocks on ebay you could get and do an entire swap....

We all know that the 5.4 intake is wider than the 4.6. But have you considered that you will need a spacer that not only allows for the extra width but also for clearance into the Spark Plug holes. The wider manifold will cover part of the Plug holes unless you raise it up high enough to allow the plug tool to snake around it. The fuel injector will now be a few inches higher than it is normally so that will also impact on fuel delivery.

Regards

well im not sure because ive never built the adapter. they do have adapters for a 4.6 intake to a 5.4 engne and it dosent have any impact on fuel delivery.
plus a good shop would make sure there would be cutouts and space to remove spark plugs. I dont know maybe its not possible but id like it to work.
