NOT flaming 1JT here... But in order for this thread to work for us, we need to see the entire powerband. In this example, the members are unable to see how hard the Vortech hits on the BOTTOM.

Note the RPM range. Better to rescale than to resize these images. Your tuner will do this for you if necessary. Try to get a trigger at the lowest RPM point possible... For future reference.

Again, no offence!

Here is my 4.2 at 7 psi, 280/315. Notice the crazy MAF function. That has since been fixed, and I have added a 10.25 (.7BAR) wastegate spring. Bring it on v8 boys

I've been very carefully watching your setup and it looks impressive! If I'm going to considering a turbo setup in the future on a heavy truck, I need to know that it will perform well on a daily driver like mine. 99 percent of my driving is going back and forth to work; alot of city driving too. The Kenne Bell, so far for me, produces alot of power from a start without having to rev the engine over 2500-3000 rpm. I do a fair amount of towing 6500-7000# worth of horses and trailer - from a start to the speed limit I've got tons of power. I honestly like your setup, I just need to see how your setup would truly work on my type of truck. I do believe if I were putting together a race only truck, I'd look to you turbo system for top end performance. Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing more installs with a wider variety of trucks.
I agree, and I think this will happen given time.

I have a video (from 1999) of my '98 (NO BLOWER) running within .001 second of a KB blown extended cab 4.6. He had me by less than a fender length! I would have expected the blower to at least make up for the additional weight. Ran dead on with a stock 5.4 4x4 too.

Here you go, I couldn't figure out how to print the whole run in rpm's. The choices I had were in 1st - 3rd gear only. So in order to display the entire run I had to do it in MPH

Hey, if you have that dyno run on a floppy, send it to me so I can view it. I would like to see it in the Run Viewer, just for the hell of it.

Thanks for posting the update!!!

SIDE NOTE- When you get on the dyno, you can request the runs be saved on a floppy for future reference, and view them on your own PC!

ALL OF YOU CAN GET THE DYNOJET RUN VIEWER HERE... It is called WinPep, and I think version 7 is the latest.

Here's my truck's dyno numbers.
RWHP = 245, torque = 342
This is on a 2001 F150 supercrew, 4x4, 35" tires, and 4.56 gears.
I have no idea what the loss through the drive train is and thought I should have seen more hp and torque all over.
My setup is a 5.4L engine with Allen intercooled M90 blower.
My modifications are 9psi total boost (no belt slippage), 42# injectors, 90mm MAF, 75mm TB, and running on Calif 91 octane gas.

http://www.f150online.com/galleries/....cfm?gnum=4739

Anybody,,please tell me what the expected loss is through such a drive train.

What were the atmospheric conditions? You should see more like 290 to 315.

6.8 L Whipple Intercooled and Non-Intercooled!

I am posting these because I am still waiting on actual application graphs, but I do know they are accurate within 10 HP.

With this intercooler... Which is only available through us, You can now obtain the top numbers! The Whipple generated graphs...

I am trying to get Mark off his ass so I can get the 5.4 graphs. One is with the FMU, 30s and an 80mm MAF and the other is a full tune with the 90mm MAF and 42s.

425/535, with a 3500-3700 RPM range at FULL boost both trucks were nearly identical. The graph is MUCH nicer with the .81 AR on the autos (Closer to Sal's graph below as compared to mine)!

Don't have confirmation, however... Waiting on a response and trying to contact the owner.

This graph is alledgedly an 11 PSI SCREW blower on a Lightning. No idea on what other mods are done, but you can bet it is completely built.

This is another graph confirming the limitations of the stock Lightning or Allen intercoolers. I say this because the SCREW blower is MUCH more adiabatically efficient than the Eaton at boost levels above 12-15 PSI. I would expect a less dramatic drop in HP on the top end from the SCREW, but I suspect HIGH charge temps on the top.

A good comparison, just for demonstrating the powerband, not to compare numbers... Notice the high torque curve but also how many RPM are in that high powerband to redline (In this case, shift point is 5600, and the truck launches around 2500 RPM).

(Corrected 700/700).

Here are the first runs (still working on tune)

These are the first pulls with the 5.4 while working on the tune. I will be doing some more pulls now that my raptor is working again and I have been able to work on the tune.

Stock SCREW. 5.4 L. BASE T-67 kit with a .81 AR on the hot side... See what I mean about the powerband on an auto vs the 5-speed?
