moisture under rear seat, Focus hatchback

no clue where to post this, and don't really want to join another site, as I'm not really knowledgeable or a huge fan of tiny cars....

the rear seat bottoms of my Focus hatch back fold up, then the backs fold forward to make it completely flat. I've folded the seat bottom up several times to find moisture underneath. I have to clue what's happening, and it's rain or no rain. could it be the heat from the exhaust causing dew point to be reached under the seat when the A/C is running inside the car?

Thread moved to GD

I doubt the exhaust is causing that much condensation.

What year?

2dr hatch or 4dr hatch?

With or without sunroof?

I don't see how exhaust could be causing condensation INSIDE the car! Check the drains in the bottom of your doors and in the rocker panels. I've had those plug up and so much water would puddle in them that you could actually hear it sloshing back and forth when I stopped. A hard stop would cause it to slosh into the car.

Sunroof with plugged drains is usually a starting point (if you have one, lol).

My son's 95 Mustang was getting wet in the floor in the back. It was caused by a missing rubber plug in the floor. There was a large hole in the floor that is supposed to have a rubber plug. The hole edges were bent and the plug fell out I presume. I put some duct tape over it as a temporary repair to keep water from splashing into the hole when the road was wet.

Is it wet during or after a rain?

Its a 2014 5 door, no sun roof. I'll check under carpet for door body plugs. Don't believe rain related, will monitor. Thanks fellas.
