Red face How do I determine weather I need pinion shim or carrier bearing relocation??

How do I determine weather I need pinion shim or carrier bearing relocation after lowering 2/4 ? I lowered using McCaughy's 2/4 and I have the shudder from 15-35/40 on take off. How can I determine which one I need? I would rather shim since its less permanent but how do I figure out how much of a shim I need? can I shim and use helper bags Slam Air 59210?

Sounds like you need to measure the angle between the transmission and the driveshaft and the angle between the differential and the driveshaft and make sure they are the same. If they are not the same there will be a vibration.

1pc driveshaft shims on the transmission mount
2pc driveshaft does the CB relocation

Assuming you're 4" or more drop in the rear

Then you're doing CB relocation (move it up) to straighten the driveshaft angles
