anyone running traction bars or a panhard bar?

like the title says I am wondering if anyone is running traction bars or a panhard bar or both.

my green truck is having traction issues and I am considering a set of JLP traction bars with a panhard bar or just the panhard bar.

truck is a 2001 F-150, lowered 1 inch up front and 2.5 in the rear. Running stock lightning front coils and '03 lightning rear leafs with beltech 2 inch drop shackles.

I don't have any problem with traction. Although I accelerate like there is an egg under my gas pedal. Trying to reduce fuel consumption, ya know what I mean? I guess if you are in the market for Trac Bars, fuel consumption is not an issue for you. But well, it should be.

the truck gets around 25 on the highway and about 12 in town (when driven nicely) but when I mash the loud pedal it get's into a wheel hop when the tires are spinning

just trying to figure out if the traction bars are going to affect the ride or cornering

I couldn't tell you if mine could spin the tires or not. How much HP does the stock 5.4 have?

I have had a lot of Fords, and it has seemed that all them had some form of wheel hop issue.

the stock 2 valve makes around 260 hp at the flywheel, the ATI is pullied for 12psi, with MAD's intake and a racing bypass valve so it makes a bit more power now. It also has a 2003 Lightning rear anti-sway bar.

I am also considering going swapping to Harley truck front springs to tighten up the front end.

I know the traction bars will help elminate wheel hop but will they tighten the truck up and make it rough on corners?

hey man, been talking to a few people and they said swapping the passenger side shock to face twards the front of the truck is a quick easy fix for the wheel hop. I already found a set of mounts from a lightning. as soon as i get them and make the switch, i'll let you know how it works out

with long traction bars I have to keep the shocks facing the rear of the truck anyway

How good are the tires on your green truck? Also, I would look into 54" traction bars for ur truck. I know they make them for the l's and I believe they fit all trucks of that older bodystyle.

I'm thinking I might try the panhard bar first then if that don't work I'll add the long bars from JDM.

I wish Tim Skelton would chime in here

well after searching around I decided that I am going to get some upgraded sway bars (hellwig) Harley truck front coils, upgraded shocks and a panhard bar. Then if needed I'll add the traction bars.
