what gear ratio dose any one suggest?
alright heres the deal.....i have a 95 f-150 with the 4.9 liter 6
and this is a great engine if you want to haul , tow or go for wheeling. but my truck is a 2wd and i am sick of getting burned i need more accel i hardly ever haul a big amount and i am wondering which gear ratio would throw me back in the seat.
later on i am going to get bigger cams and other mods but a more street truck gear ratio is what seems to me that would be the best thing to do be sides getting a intake and better sounding exhuast.......so what do you guys suggest?
so i am gonna go smoke a bowl while i wait

Go with 3.73's, the motor has enough torque that 4.10's would be completely useless. 3.55's work great, but I would recommend 3.73's. Convert the system to Mass Air and that will help. Speed Density is a PITA. The only problem with a 300 about accelerating fast is that it's a long stroked motor, it takes it longer to make a revolution than some other motors. I never had any problems with any of my inline sixes about lacking in power. Challenge a 302 to a pulling contest =)
