I had some older kenwood excelon's in my 98 F-150. i forget the model number, I'd have to look. I thought they were quite impressive and not a bad price on them. For my 2000 I've got hte pionerr ts-5865's or something to that extent, i haven't installed them yet because I'm waiting to do a few mods at the same time.

HOLY SMOKES!!! The Kenwood Excelon KFC-X688 's are HORRIBLE!!!
The KFC-X688 's (which were $150/pair) sound worse than the factory joke speakers!! (Those factory speakers were just a joke from Ford showing a sense of humor, right?)
The KFC-5708's (which were $60/pair) sound somewhat better, but....nothing to write home about. (so much for quality with price...??)
So, are these just garbage speakers or am I waisting my time because it's the HU thats the problem? I just put in the Visteon Mach MP3 CD player which is 60 Watts RMS (15 Watts per channel.)
